Integrate with Yahoo ConnectID: Amazon CxM

      Article summary

Publishers need a privacy-centric solution to bridge the identity gap while continuing to generate revenue amidst the changes in signal loss and privacy regulations due to the ongoing evolution of the identity landscape. Built on the robust and proprietary Yahoo Identity Graph, Yahoo ConnectID is a future-proofed solution designed to enable ad tech platforms to consistently recognize and match users across the open web.

Amazon Connections Marketplace (CxM) is one of the many mechanisms for integrating with ConnectID. It is appropriate for any seller that leverages Amazon Transparent Ad Marketplace (TAM).

      Integration Overview

A ConnectID integration via CxM is seamless and requires little effort for publishers to better monetize their supply, unlocking additional demand in Yahoo. It consists of only 2 high-level steps.

1 Enable ConnectID from Amazon Publishers Services

2 Configure Hashed Emails to Generate ConnectIDs

Enable ConnectID from Amazon Publishers Services

      1. Sign into Amazon Publishers Services.

      2. Navigate to Bidder Signals in CxM, then search for the Yahoo ConnectID tile.

      3. Click View Details.

      4. Complete a short questionnaire (contact name, URL, domains, etc.).

The questionnaire provides the necessary information for a Yahoo Account Manager to activate the ConnectID integration.

Configure Hashed Emails to Generate ConnectIDs

For any publisher that does not have an existing ConnectID integration, the following steps must be completed to ensure all hashed emails are stored in the yahooId cookie to generate ConnectIDs.

        Important

        • For publishers that have an existing ConnectID integration via Prebid or JavaScript, Amazon’s tag will intercept available ConnectIDs on the domain(s) and pass them to exchange partners. These publishers do not need to configure their hashed emails since they have already done so through their existing integration.

        • When there is no available hashed email, the ConnectID script auto-generates first-party cookies to create a ConnectID.

      5. Ensure that all user emails are lowercase, trimmed of white space and SHA-256 hashed.

      6. Store the hashed email in the yahooId cookie.

The ConnectID script will read the value stored under the yahooId cookie and use it for ConnectID generation.
